Bike Trails

Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes
The Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes covers nearly 72 paved miles through scenic mountains and valleys in Idaho's Panhandle, following the river and skirting the shoreline of sparkling Lake Coeur d'Alene.  It is a gateway to the Great American Rail-Trail, a nearly 4,000 mile  trail that connects the country from Washington, D.C., to Washington state. Watch for wildlife including moose, elk, coyotes, deer, beavers, birds of prey, and black bear. The trail conveniently goes right through town in Wallace.
Hiawatha Trail

This beautifully breathtaking bike trail is 15 miles long with 10 old train tunnels and 7 sky-high trestles offering incredible mountain views. The first tunnel on the trail is over a mile long, and the trail is all downhill with shuttles (fees may apply) that run you and your bike back to the top when you're done. Only a few miles outside of Wallace, this trail is a must-do for anyone passing through. Mountain bikes can be rented at Lookout Pass ski resort, or pick up an e-bike in downtown Wallace if you have a truck or trailer you can use to get it to the trailhead.

Lookout Pass

To the East 12 miles lies Lookout Pass Ski and Recreation Area, a highly recommended destination for active families who like to ski or would like to learn. The mountain has a quiet, friendly environment that welcomes people of all ages. With only 3 chairlifts, most think it wouldn't have much to offer, but it is a hidden gem for snow sports. This attribute attracts those who seek fresh snow more often than not, untouched runs, and little crowds.
